Barry Russell – Real Estate Expert


Barry Russell’s 50-year real estate career includes his work as a commercial developer, investor, an agent and a broker. 

Barry has an MBA in Finance, Securities and Real Estate and has extensive experience in commercial real estate. He developed or brokered real estate properties, totalling over $350 million, in Missouri, Illinois, Washington State and Western Canada.  With that background he shifted gears in 2005, and focused on residential properties. Big projects or small residential, he has the ability to show simple solutions to often complicated short sale cases.

Following the meltdown of 2008 and its aftermath. he has focused on short sale services amounting to over 500 cases. Clients were saved from foreclosure and released from an aftermath of potential litigation with their lenders. Cases ranged from complex high-dollar, multiple-mortgaged properties to very simple FHA-financed homes in lower income areas. 

No case has been too small or too big for his willingness to help people in trouble. One such example involved an elderly woman struggling with health problems and living in a unheated house with a flooded basement, in a crime ridden area. With the help of donations from the Rotary Club of which he is a member, Barry was able to get her moved into a safe, warm apartment, in a complex supported by a non-profit organization. The short sale of her house was then completed. She was tremendously relieved and grateful to Short Sale Specialists and its team for their work and to the givers who made it happen.

Barry is also the Founder of The Real Estate Collaborative, which since 2013, has brought together many in the St. Louis residential community. These meetings are attended by realtors, mortgage lenders, investors and service providers who value the forum and the networking.

Barry’s Role:

  • Focus on the interaction & negotiation with your lender.

  • Stop a foreclosure.

  • Work with your Realtor to ensure your lender’s requirements are met.

  • Get your lender to accept a realistic sale price for your home.
